Update to the Board of School Trustees - July 22, 2024

Consolidation Planning Process

●    Creation of a Project Charter that gives a sense of purpose to the management of the project.  It outlines key directives, outcomes, goals, and deliverables.

●    Creation of a Project Timeline and robust Engagement Strategy.

●    Establish an on-going review protocol.

●    Develop a communication plan to keep everyone informed on this important work.

●    Identify key components for a successful merger.

 

Administrative Planning Team

●    A team of MCCSC leaders from various departments are meeting bi-weekly to focus on planning, preparation, logistics, and overall project coordination.

●    This team is focusing on critical topics, including facilities, staffing, operations, student supports, programming, and a collaboration and transition process between the schools.

 

Facilities Assessment

●    A full facilities assessment, including buildings, parking, playground, and furnishings, will be conducted by outside experts, as well as within MCCSC.

●    Necessary updates will be made based on the information received.

 

Engagement Strategy

Community Engagement Meetings have already begun and will continue through at least November as the final plan is created.

MCEA Meetings

●    Childs and Templeton MCEA Members & MCEA President (Beginning July 2024)

●    Corporation Discussion Council (DISCO) Monthly Meetings (Beginning July 2024) 

Childs & Templeton Teachers, Staff, and Parents/Guardians

●    Twice-monthly meetings with the Childs-Templeton Advisory Group (Beginning July 2024)

●    Faculty meetings with teachers/staff (Beginning August 2024)

●    Childs and Templeton PTOs (Beginning August 2024)

Community Members

●    Meetings will be held with community groups, faith-based groups, local government, etc. (Beginning August 2024)

Board of School Trustees

●    Monthly updates (Beginning July 2024)

 

Communications Messaging Plan

●    Create a plan which includes opportunities for two-way communication in order to keep teachers and families of Childs and Templeton students aware of what is happening.

●    Continue to keep the entire MCCSC community updated regarding progress on the merger plan.

●    Website to keep the community informed of progress.

  • Includes information regarding the merger plan process and status.
  • Frequently asked questions (FAQs) will be listed with answers.
  • Monthly updates shared at School Board of Trustees meetings will be posted.

●    Email address will be created specifically for receiving and reviewing ideas and feedback.
