Athletics & Extracurricular Activities

Students wanting to participate in extracurricular activities, sports, and special events will need to meet the same academic and attendance requirements as other students attending the school in-person. In addition, they would need to participate in the same tryouts, practices, etc. as their peers attending the school in-person.  All transportation to and from the school in order to participate in these activities must be provided by the online student’s family.

Clubs

MCCSC Online students interested in participating in before or after school extracurricular club opportunities in-person should inform the principal of The Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship so they can connect the student/family with the appropriate people at the school(s).

Sports

MCCSC students who attend MCCSC Online may participate in sports at their MCCSC middle or high school of choice.  All student-athletes are required to pass an IHSAA physical prior to participating in any official practices or games.

Students who do not live within the MCCSC school zone are not able to participate in MCCSC sports due to rules determined by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).

Special Events

MCCSC Online students are allowed and encouraged to attend any Monroe County Community School Corporation event which is open to the public, including performances and sporting events.

Dances: Middle and high school students enrolled in the MCCSC Online, including hybrid, are allowed to participate in additional special events such as dances, etc. at The Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship.

Field Trips: MCCSC Online students may be invited to participate in some field trips. Families will be notified about these opportunities when they arise. Online students are not required to attend any field trips.
