WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards
WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards
Since 2013, Indiana has used the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards to support English learners in schools. These standards focus on helping students build the language skills they need to take part in classroom activities, understand their lessons, and communicate with teachers and peers.
The updated 2020 version offers clearer guidance and new resources for educators to connect language development with academic learning in subjects like math, science, reading, and social studies.
