Student Wifi Access and Home Connectivity

Internet connectivity off campus can be a valuable addition to student's ability to work remotely on assignments. As such, we encourage families who may not have Internet or reliable Internet access from the home to seek out community opportunities for students to complete their coursework. The Monroe County Public Library offers free public wireless access as do many City of Bloomington facilities and afterschool program providers. MCCSC teachers and administrators are aware that sometimes seeking out transportation or other barriers to those community resources are also difficult for families. Please communicate with your student's teacher if your student needs to have arrangements for offline access to materials. Offline access may include pre-downloading assigned readings, working in collaborative documents in offline mode, and other options to continue a student's off campus learning without access to the Internet.

Some local service providers also offer discounted Internet rate plans for families who are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, or SSI.
