  • 6th & 7th Graders Transition to the Next Grade Level

    CURRENT 7TH GRADERS will be scheduling their 8th grade classes this week. In-person students will receive course selection info during Homeroom and Online students will receive that information in Social Studies classes. Course selection forms should be returned to Homeroom or Resource teachers by March 4. CURRENT 6TH GRADERS will receive their course selection info from their MCCSC elementary teachers. Course selection forms should be returned to their teachers by March 5. ALL 7TH & 6TH GRADERS will need to enter their course selections in Skyward this year. Follow the instructions in the video link by clicking on the title of this news item. Please note that every attempt is made to give students the electives of their choice; however, seats are limited.

  • Fourth 6-Week Grading Period Ends February 26

  • National Junior Honor Society

    National Junior Honor Society applications are now open. 7th & 8th graders are invited to apply via the Google form in the announcement sent to students via Canvas on 2/19. 8th grade returning members only need to complete the assignment as described in the announcement. The five pillars of NJHS are scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Applications must be submitted prior to 3:00 pm on Friday, March 5. This is a firm and final deadline.

  • PPAs for Spring Break

    If students will be absent 2 or more days before or after Spring Break for travel or family events, please contact Mrs. Mason (dmason@mccsc.edu) in the Attendance Office for a Parent Pre-arranged Absence form (PPA).

  • School Pictures Now Available Online

    School Picture orders and proof photos taken in January were sent home with students on February 8. If you missed ordering School Pictures, it's not too late! Photos are now available to view and order online on Kirkwood Photo's website. Click on the title above for the link to their photo gallery. Visitors will need their student's alpha key to log in and view photos. To get your passcode, go to your Family Skyward Access account, select Portfolio, then Alpha Key, and View Report.

  • Book Club Now Forming

    Mrs. Whittaker and Ms. Howell are hosting a book club at Tri-North for the book, Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, adaption by Jason Reynolds. Students that are interested should follow the link to a google form in the announcement posted on the Tri-North student canvas page. Check with Mrs. Whittaker in the Library or Ms. Howell in Guidance if you need a copy of the book.

  • Not attending Tri-North MS or North HS next year?

    Attention current 7th & 8th graders: if you will not be attending Tri-North or North in the fall, please have your parents/guardians contact Mrs. Connor via email at baconnor@mccsc.edu. Tri-North will send your permanent records to South HS, the Academy, Batchelor, Jackson Creek, or an out of district school as needed.

  • Inclement Weather Delays and School Closings

    It’s that snowy, icy time of year! Click on the title of this article for the INCLEMENT WEATHER CLASS TIME SCHEDULES. If school is closed all students will have classes online starting at 8:00 am. The school closure schedule is on the left. If school is on a 2-hour delay both in-person and online students will follow the schedule on the right starting at 10 am. When the weather is inclement, please remember to CHECK the TV and RADIO stations for a 2-hour delay or school closure day. We are Monroe County Community Schools; we are not Monroe-Gregg. Parents should receive a CALL or TEXT in the event of weather issues. Please update your phone numbers and email address on Skyward Family Access. You can also check the MCCSC website. On a delayed schedule, BUSES will run approximately 2 hours later than normal. Questions about buses should be directed to MCCSC Transportation at 812-330-7719.

    Several clubs are now meeting virtually. Contact Mr. Frazier (dfrazier@mccsc.edu) about Game Club. Contact Mr. Baysinger (sbaysing@mccsc.edu) if you’re interest in Builders Club (middle school Kiwanis). Contact Mrs. Whittaker (mwhittak@mccsc.edu) if you’re interested in Maker’s Club. Contact Mrs. Farmer (bnfarmer@mccsc.edu) you’re interested in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Contact Mrs. Connor (baconnor@mccsc.edu) if you’re interested in Y.E.S.   • Free School Meals for All Enrolled Students Extended

    MCCSC was approved by the USDA to provide FREE SCHOOL MEALS to ALL enrolled students. All enrolled students can receive FREE BREAKFAST and FREE LUNCH everyday through the end of the school year. See the Food Service tab on the MCCSC website for details.

  • All Returning MCCSC Students Need to Complete Online Registration for 2020-2021

    Online registration for returning MCCSC students for the 2020-2021 academic year must be completed by October 1. Parents of all current students continuing to any MCCSC school should login to their Skyward Family Access account to complete online registration. Please contact our office with any questions.
