Student Appreciation Day is Friday, May 24, the last day of school. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various free activities at school: movies, gym & outdoor activities, board games, computer games, and more. They also may choose to sign up for bowling and/or roller skating. Bowling is $5 and Skating is $4. The only opportunity to register and pay will be at lunches on May 9, 10, 13 & 14. This is a firm deadline! Sign up for the free activities will be with 5th period teachers in class.
Students that will be honored at the Awards Programs were given a red or light green invitation to take home to their families. They were distributed by the nominating teachers. The 7th Grade Awards Program is Tuesday, May 21, and the 8th Grade Awards Program is Thursday, May 23. Both will take place at 8:30 am in our Auditorium.
Students will need to turn in their iPad in its MCCSC provided cover, sync cord, and charger block. Before turning it in, students need to upload any document, picture, or movie they want to save to their Google Drive account. There will be a fee charged for any items not returned.
2018-2019 Yearbooks will be distributed to students who pre-ordered on the last day of school. If you don’t remember if you ordered one, check the list in the cafeteria. There will be a limited number of extra yearbooks available. Students that wish to purchase a yearbook should bring $20 cash or check, payable to Tri-North, with them on May 24. 8th graders get first call on extra yearbooks.
Tri-North has a new Summer Reading Program to encourage reading and community. Upcoming 8th graders may choose one of 14 books selected by our staff to read over the summer. Ask your student for details they received in their Language Arts classes. Students will be able to borrow their chosen book over the summer and discuss it with a teacher or administrator in the Fall. Thank you to the Tri-North PTO and the Community Foundation for grants to help provide sets of these high interest books.
Interested in participating in Athletics? Each year students need a completed Sports Physical Packet on file in the office before the first practice, workout, or open gym. An exam completed April 1, 2019 or after is in effect through the following academic year. Current 7th graders that participated in athletics last school year will need another current Packet for the 2019-2020 year. Sports packets are available from the Athletics tab above and in the office. Please use our forms; doctors do not have all the necessary forms. Sports offered are Cheer, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Football in the Fall; Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, and Swimming/Diving in the Winter; and Track & Field in the Spring.
