MCCSC Students win Bill of Rights Contest

Congratulations to two MCCSC students on winning the Southern District of Indiana Bill of Rights Contest!
 
The United States Courts of Appeals along with the United States District Courts for the 7th and 8th Circuits hosted a Bill of Rights contest. Students were encouraged to submit an essay, poem, video, photograph, song, or piece of art on the importance of the Bill of Rights. The winner from each of the three age groups (K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 grade) for Indiana will be awarded a $50 gift card.
 
Charles Chen, 5th grader at University Elementary School won 1st place in the elementary division in Indiana for an essay he submitted. Click here to view Charles's essay submission. 
 
Kelton O’Connell, 7th grader at Jackson Creek Middle School won 1st place in the middle school division in Indiana for a video he submitted. It was announced lon Wednesday 12/2, during a virtual Bill of Rights Family event that Kelton was selected as the grand prize for the middle school circuit division! Click here to view Kelton's essay submission.
