2020 Graduate Information

Students and Parents of the Class of 2020,

 Congratulations! You are one of the most resilient groups of students ever to graduate. Your endeavors, patience and understanding are most appreciated as we navigate our COVID-19 responses. Although there have been many disappointments, we are so very proud of our seniors who have been relentless in reaching graduation and preparing for their futures.

 We have navigated our response to COVID-19 in a manner so as to protect our students and staff. With your help our virtual graduations have been professionally completed and will take place on the schedule that has been in place for many years. This schedule was maintained as many of our families preplan family get togethers this weekend. Many of our families and/or students leave Bloomington to begin their future or return to their homes after this weekend. The virtual graduation schedule is as follows;

Thursday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m.   Bloomington Graduation School

Friday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m.        The Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship

Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m.    Bloomington High School South

Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m.    Bloomington High School North

 As COVID-19 cases began in the United States, our school buildings and grounds were closed through June 30, to protect students and staff. Again, we have prioritized the health and wellness of our students and staff and will continue this closure through June 30.

 Your high school principal will be in contact with you to schedule graduates who would like to “walk the stage” and be congratulated. Family members will be able to take pictures or video of their graduate. This is scheduled for the week of July 6th.

 Although this is not how we would have preferred these milestone activities to take place, our graduates of the Class of 2020 will always have a special place in the Monroe County Community School Corporation’s history.

 Thank you for your patience and support. Congratulations graduates and families of the Class of 2020!

Professionally yours,

Dr. Judith DeMuth

Superintendent
