Bloomington North Girls Cybersecurity Club to Compete in National Championship
Bloomington High School North Girls Qualify for Cybersecurity National Championship
Congratulations to the Bloomington High School North GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Club on qualifying for the Girls Go Cyberstart National Championship! The team was one of nine schools in Indiana that qualified.
Girls Go CyberStart is a fun and interactive series of digital challenges designed to introduce high school girls to the field of cybersecurity. More than 6,600 high school girls played Girls Go CyberStart in 2019. These girls competed in three stages for the chance to win cash prizes individually and for their school as well as scholarships to help pay for college. Girls Go CyberStart is made up of three stages. Teams started by participating in a fun online tryout called CyberStart Assess from March 20 through April 12. Clubs that meet the program's selection criteria moved on to CyberStart Game, from June 5 through June 7, where they'll compete in an online game of Capture the Flag in CyberStart Compete! The team could only choose four participants to be a part of the National Championship stage.
