8th Annual Eco-Heroes Contest Winners Announced

 

The City of Bloomington Environmental Commission is happy to announce winners for this year’s 8th annual Eco-Heroes Contest. Judging was based on three criteria: creativity/originality, interpretation of theme, and technical skill/visual appeal. MCCSC had over 70 participants in the contest this year.

Winners of the Eco-Heroes Contest will be honored by the Mayor of Bloomington John Hamilton and presented a prize at the Eco-Heroes awards ceremony on Saturday, April 27th. The ceremony will be held in the Showers City Hall Council Chambers at 10:00 AM. It is open to the public and bringing family and friends is encouraged. We hope to see you there!

The MCCSC winners in each category are as follows:

 

Pre-K-2nd

1st place: Jacob Kennedy, 2nd Grade, Rogers Elementary

2nd place: Vanora McKinlay, 1st Grade, Rogers Elementary

3rd place: Emma Warner, 2nd Grade, Rogers Elementary

 

3rd-5th

1st place: Marisa Schmidt, 5th Grade, Summit Elementary

2nd place: Christine Collins, 4th Grade, University Elementary

3rd place: Evie Hemmerich, 4th Grade, Binford Elementary

 

9th-12th

1st place: Richelle Elkes, Gavin Hillenberg, Aubrie Hubbard, Jesse Kogge, Scott Pollock, Keate Senior, & Maxim Tretyuk 9th – 11th Grade, The Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship

 

 

2nd place: Torin McLaughlin, 11th Grade, Bloomington High School South

3rd place: Anna Wrasse, 10th Grade, Bloomington High School South

 

Adult

1st place: Georgia Koushiafes

2nd place: Stacy Calderon

3rd place: Charles Culp
