MCCSC Announces New Bloomington High School North Principal


MCCSC is pleased to announce that Mrs. Michelle Brittain-Watts will be the new principal at Bloomington High School North. She will begin her role on April 1st, 2019.


Mrs. Brittain-Watts previously served sixteen years with Indianapolis Public Schools as: principal at Northwest Community High School, vice principal at George Washington Community High School, curriculum and special education compliance coordinator for adult education programs, special education teacher and compliance monitor at John Marshall Middle School, district alternative education and curriculum director, assistant principal and athletic director at Coleman Middle School, and teacher of exceptional learners and assistant athletic director at IPS #60 and Arlington High School.


She also was lead teacher of exceptional learners and compliance coordinator at MSD Pike Township Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana. Most recently, she was principal at Tindley High School of Charles A. Tindley Accelerated Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mrs. Brittain-Watts earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. She later received her teacher certification from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Ms. Brittain-Watts also earned master’s degrees in education administration at Butler University and in psychology at Martin University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
