Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers
Once again, the unthinkable occurred in a school. A shooting of their precious students. Please know that we continuously visit, practice and refine our safety protocols with staff and students. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. This takes all of us.
We have made some resources available below that help with talking to your children about violence. These tips come from the National Association of School Psychologists. Our corporation social workers, counselors, and school psychologists are also a wonderful resource to support children and families as they grapple with the emotional trauma of recent school shooting events. We want to remind you of their availability in the event that a child is in need of support.
Thank you for your continued support! Our hearts go out to the students, staff, and families in Florida.
