Samantha Mehay of Bloomington South Honored at Herron School of Art and Design

Five juniors from Westfield, Warren Central, Avon, Bloomington South, and Western Boone Junior Senior high schools produced the top works in Herron School of Art and Design’s third annual Indiana High School Junior Art Invitational.
Samantha Mehay of Bloomington High School South was awarded Honorable Mention for her work “Eyes in India" and her art teacher, Cynthia Leistikow, was recognized.
Eyes of India  
Approximately 40 teachers from 27 high schools submitted 157 works. More than 100 people attended the exhibition’s opening reception. Attendees also had the opportunity to take a guided tour and learn more about Herron’s nationally accredited, top ranked art and design programs and IUPUI campus life.
Eskenazi Hall gallery hours are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday and Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Parking is available in the visitor’s section of the Sports Complex Garage
( and validations are available at the desk in the main gallery. The works will be on exhibit through April 20 in the Marsh Gallery of Eskenazi Hall at Herron.
