The physical Library is closed, but the eLibrary is open!

Here are just a few of the many things you can do online with your library card.

Read an eBook: Not sure what to check out? Look through staff picks lists, or take a BuzzFeed quiz to find a personalized recommendation.

Listen to your favorite jams: Download digital music free and keep it forever with Freegal, or stream and download entire music albums using Hoopla.

Watch movies and TV shows: Popular streaming and downloadable movies and TV shows are always available with Hoopla, and classics, contemporary art, indie films, documentaries, and educational videos with Kanopy. Kanopy Kids streams kid stuff too––like Sesame Street and some of your favorite picture books. Even better, Kanopy Kids titles don't count toward your play credits!

Listen to an audiobook: Looking for that perfect book to get you through a long day? You can listen to audiobooks when your eyes are occupied. Did you know it can be easier to immerse yourself in the book when you hear the voice of characters in the story come alive?

Read a magazine or newspaper: Reading news helps you to develop an open and critical mind. You can read full digital copies of your favorite magazines, or explore some of the latest national or local news in The New York Times or The Herald-Times online.

Learn a new skill: Want to get a promotion, find a new job, or be more effective at your current one? Learn whenever and wherever you want to with thousands of easy-to-follow video tutorials and exercise files from industry experts at

Start learning a new language: Celebrate the rich diversity of the world's cultures and the importance of cross-cultural dialogue with over 70 world language courses, including English. In fun, interactive, and self-paced lessons, native speakers teach real conversational skills using simple, clear instructions.

Play a game: Try a game recommendation for kids of all ages.

Enjoy a preschool song or rhyme: Watch a librarian perform preschool songs and rhymes in English or Spanish on the Library's YouTube channel.

Plan your next Library event: The Library offers hundreds of events each year. Take a look at the latest seasonal program guide or view the full calendar.

Watch CATS TV: Did you know that the Library has its own television station which telecasts five cable channels in Monroe County? Community Access Television Services broadcasts local government meetings and community events, as well as arts and entertainment, and locally-produced shows.
