    High School Summer School Information

MCCSC High School Summer School will begin on June 2nd and end on July 9th.  Classes will not be held on July 3rd to observe the July 4th holiday.

As in past years, work will be online using the PLATO program.  All work will be completed at home.  Support will be available during this time through both Plato instructors and licensed Math teachers.

The focus of summer school is for students to recover credits that are needed for graduation.  If your student is unsure of what credits they need to take, please contact their high school counselor who will review their transcript with them.  Students may select up to two (2) classes.

Again, please remember students are allowed to select up to two (2) classes and should contact their counselor with class selection questions.  Contact Barb Stork (bstork@mccsc.edu) with general summer school questions.

    Virtural Summer Camp

Keep your student learning this summer!

Virtual Summer Camp is an easy way for your child to stay sharp this summer from the comfort of your own home. This program is available to students currently in K-8th grades. Students will use the Edmentum Products: Exact Path, MathSeeds, and/or Reading Eggs to complete reading and math activities. Students can work at their level and pace to fill gaps and enrich their learning. In addition, students can also work on grade level assignments to reinforce skills they have mastered throughout the year and prevent the summer skill slide. A schedule of the weekly assignments will be provided at the beginning of the summer. Your child can log on at any point throughout the week to complete these assignments or work on their personalized learning path in reading and/or math.

If you have any questions, contact Marti Colglazier at mcolglaz@mccsc.edu

    EdVentures in Leadership

The EdVentures in Leadership program will return again this summer!

The Office of Early Learning and Out of School Programs will again be offering a program for students entering 7th and 8th grade. Our program aims to give its participants an age-appropriate summer camp experience, as well as an opportunity to develop leadership and mentoring skills.

Participants will have numerous opportunities throughout the summer to plan activities, assist the adult staff, and mentor younger campers. The program will encourage its participants to take initiative within the program and act as a leader in a variety of settings.

Please call the office at 812-330-7702 for more information.

    Breakfast and Lunch

    • Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided to all campers at no additional charge.

    • All medication and documentation must be brought into the nurse’s office by the parent/guardian.

    • MCCSC EdVenture Camp is an inclusive summer camp program. In order to make camp a positive, safe, and successful experience for all campers, prior to registering, please determine whether your camper meets the following criteria:
    1. Student is age appropriate entering grades Kindergarten through 8th grade this fall.
    2. Student is able to participate in the camp program independently or with reasonable accommodations.
    3. Student is willing and able to follow direction and instruction from a staff person.
    4. Student is comfortable with, and able to safely interact in, a group environment.

MCCSC EdVenture camp includes daily activities in small and large groups and field trips throughout Bloomington, including trips to the public pool, as well as extended periods of time spent outdoors during the summer months. When selecting your summer camp for your child, please keep these activities in mind. It is our goal to serve every child, however, space is limited. Please contact our director at 812-330-7702 prior to registering to discuss necessary accommodations.

Please note that for students needing accommodations that include additional staff support we require at least 2 weeks notice prior to the start of camp to make staffing arrangements.

    Tuition and Fees

There is a $35.00 non-refundable registration fee per family. This registration fee processes your enrollment, but does not guarantee a particular week of camp.

A $15.00 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per child per week of camp is also due upon enrollment, (unless your camper qualifies for a scholarship). This amount is applied directly to that week’s fee and reserves your spot.

Remaining balances for weeks are due by 4:00 pm on the Monday prior to your next scheduled week, (please review the Payment Due Date Schedule below). If your payment is not received by Monday at 4:00 pm before your week of camp, then your spot will be given to the next child on the wait list. If cancelling a session prior to the payment due date, please notify our office. Any received payments over and above the deposit will be applied to other session balances. Deposits are non-refundable/non-transferable.

Important Note: Failure to pay full session fee by deadline will result in forfeiture of deposit and spot.
