Mrs. Molly JEON

After graduating from the University of Colorado in 1989, Molly Jeon went to Japan on the JET Program where, in addition to teaching English, she intensely studied Japanese music, culture, and language. In April 1995, she became the Grand Champion of a regional Japan Folk Song Competition. In 1999, Jeon completed her master’s degree at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts in Ethnomusicology. After returning to the US in 2000,  she got teaching licenses in Japanese and English as a Second Language. In 2010, Molly become Indiana Foreign Language Teacher of the Year (IFLTA) and Indiana Japanese Teacher of the Year (AITJ). In 2012, she was named Educator of the Year by the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce.
