Mrs. Christine Davenport

Mrs. Davenport is the ENL teacher at Summit Elementary.

Mrs. Davenport graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors in French Education in 2004. While working in MCCSC, she discovered she loved to work with students learning English in the school system. She completed her ENL certification in 2008 and began work at Bloomington High School North that fall. She came to Summit in 2010 and LOVES her elementary students. So much, in fact, she went back to school to learn more about how to better serve her students by completing her Masters in Language Education in 2013.

Mrs. Davenport loves to travel in the U.S. and internationally; she has been to France, Taiwan, Canada, Jordan, Italy, Belgium, and England. She speaks two languages, French & English, and is working on improving her Spanish. She loves to learn and read. Some of her favorite books include C.S. Lewis' Naria series, the Dodsworth books (by Tim Eagan), Where the Mountain Meets the Moon (by Grace Lin), Sherlock Holmes stories, the Harry Potter books, and ALL of the Middle Earth books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Ask her what she's reading right now - or, better yet, recommend a new book to her!
