Mrs. Courtney began teaching music for MCCSC in 1997, and traveled between many elementary schools before becoming full-time in one building when Summit opened. She grew up in Bloomington, and went to Binford, Batchelor, Bloomington HS South , and IU. She is married to another music educator, Brian Courtney, who after many years of teaching in various capacities in for MCCSC, now operates his own music studio. They have two children and two dogs. She loves to be with her family, practice yoga, and be in nature, with a particular fondness for trees and gardening.
