Spelling
|
Every Monday students will
receive a new spelling list for the week. Assignments are given on Monday and
due on Wednesday . Spelling tests will be on Fridays.
Our spelling lists will come from a variety
of places including literature, science, math, and social studies. In addition,
spelling words will be taken from commonly misspelled words that appear in
group writing activities. As the year progresses, students will be maintaining
their own personal spelling list of words they consistently misspell.
Spelling assignments will vary. Some weeks
students will be required to complete workbook pages from our textbook while
other weeks I will be customizing assignments based on the word list being
used.
I will be emphasizing cursive handwriting and
helping the students review some troublesome cursive letters. The students know
they are to write in cursive at all times unless I've advised them otherwise.
