The Monroe County Community School Corporation Adult Education Program has been offering its services to the Bloomington Community since 1965. It has grown from a very small evening program with fewer than 50 participants to a full-service day and evening program with over 1200 students annually. The GED Testing Center tests more than 400 examinees annually and boasts a 78% passing rate. In the Teen Learning Center last year alone, students earned 149 high school credits, completed 30 high school diplomas, and obtained more than 100 GEDs. An English as a Second Language (ESL) program is also offered, along with basic skills, evening high school secondary credit, evening computer classes, a Reading Lab, support for ESL families, and customized workforce development classes at area businesses. Broadview Learning Center, the beautiful new home of Adult Ed, was completed in the summer of 2006, so almost all programs are now collected under one roof, located on the BT #2 South bus route. Our spacious Community Rooms are available for use. And of course, you must come see our famous wall murals!
