Tax preparationTAX HELP IS HERE! MCCSC Adult Education and The United Way of Monroe County are partnering to conduct free tax preparation on Saturday, February 4, 10am to 3pm, with the purpose of helping low- and moderate-income residents file their federal and Indiana tax returns and, if they qualify, claim the Earned Income Tax Credit. For your one-hour appointment, sign up in the Adult Ed office at Broadview Learning Center (705 W. Coolidge Drive). A Spanish interpreter will be available. FREE Adult Basic Education/GED Preparation Classes
Go back to your future and get your GED. Or brush up to attend college. Or prepare for a new or better job. During the regular school year, ABE/GED classes are offered during the week, daytime and evening, in three locations. You can start any time, but new students must first be assessed in a 2- to 4-hour orientation to determine their best learning levels and goals.   • GED Online is available for enrolled students.
  • GED testing is offered weekly at BLC.
  • We offer Ivy Tech's COMPASS test at 9-11am on the first Wednesday of each month.

FREE ESL (English as a Second Language) classes

During the regular school year, ESL classes are offered in the morning, afternoon, and evening. For schedules and more information, click here.

Withdrawn from school? Get your GED at the TLC. Or maybe get help with homework assistance. Find out info here.

Note: 16-, 17-, and 18-year-olds may do morning GED testing only, unless they have special permission from the Director to take an evening exam.

Computer Classes
People 55 or older can sign up for our Senior Tech afternoon classes, taught by senior volunteers, at a cost of $25 for four weeks (plus a materials fee of $10). Click here for the 2012 schedule and registration forms.You can also preregister and prepay at Broadview Learning Center.

Volunteer Training and Opportunities
Volunteers are vital to our program, from tutoring single students or groups to helping with simple administrative or marketing tasks. Click here for more information, to see our current needs, and to fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire. And remember, volunteers learn what they teach!
