Green Team Procedures

In order to make your learning experience as pleasant and productive as possible, each of your Green Team Classes will follow the same basic procedures in regards to make-up work after absence from class, late work, and tardies.

Make-up Work

  1. Each team teacher will place copies of make-up work in a designated area in their room.  This make-up material will include each day’s agenda, handouts, and assignments.
  2. When a student returns to school after an absence, he/she should pick-up make-up materials from the designated area.
  3. Please review the make-up materials first.  Then see your teacher(s) if you have any questions.

Late Work

  1. Assignments are usually due at the beginning of the period unless otherwise noted by your team teacher.
  2. When you come to class on a day an assignment is due, find your paper before class begins and be ready to turn it in (in final form) at the beginning of the period.
  3. Assignments turned in after the beginning of the period are late.  Late assignments are subject to penalties by each individual teacher and must be accom-panied by a note from a parent.
  4. Assignments turned in after papers have been graded and returned to students are con-sidered delinquent and will be dealt with by each individual teacher. Students who chron-ically submit delinquent assignments may be subject to additional academic and/or disciplinary consequences.

Tardy

  1. In the Green Team Classes, tardiness is defined as a failure to be in your seat and ready to work when the bell first rings.
  2. To be eligible for Green Team Days, a student can have no more than one tardy in any team class during a six weeks grading period.  Additional disciplinary consequences for excessive tardiness can be found in your student handbook (p. 11).

TEAM RULES

Every  well functioning family,   community, and society needs a clear set of rules to encourage each person to behave maturely and responsibly.  The Green Team Classes also have rules, so that we have a pleasant, productive and safe learning place.  The rules in each Green Team Classroom are:

1. Be prompt (in your seat when the bell rings)

2. Bring required materials to class

3. Treat others and their property respectfully.

TEAM

CONSEQUENCES

The Green Team students are known for their outstanding behavior.  You have the opportunity to continue that tradition.  The positive choices you make on a daily basis have consequences including excellent grades, stronger friendships, and increased self-confidence.  For your positive choices, you’ll also earn the following opportunities and recognition:

It’s Great to be Green Days

            Green Team Field Trips

Assorted Rewards, Praise, and  Opportunities for Recognition

To be eligible to participate in a Green Day celebration, a student must meet the following criteria during each six weeks’ grading period:

1.      One tardy or less to any Green Team Class.

2.      No discipline referrals

3.      No more than one late assignment in any Green Team Class and no missing assignments.

Negative choices also have consequences.  In the unlikely event that you make a poor decision, the consequences are listed below:

First Offense:  Warning

Second Offense:  Student/Teacher Conference

Third Offense:  Lunch Detention and/or Conference with Team Teachers

Team teachers will use their professional discretion in the assignment of disciplinary consequences they deem most effective.  Extreme misconduct may result in an immediate discipline referral.
