"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
-John F. Kennedy, Washington, D.C., January 20, 1961
John F. Kennedy in his Inaugural Address spoke those words on January 20, 1961, in Washington, D.C. I think those words demonstrate the point that Martin Luther King was trying to get across to everyone in the 1960's. John Kennedy's words clearly say that people should help their country out with their talents rather than rely on government support. It really goes with what Martin Luther King, Jr. said: "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." President Kennedy also supported Martin Luther King's attempts to end discrimination against African-Americans. That is why I believe John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address should be included in my webpage.
