Dr. Marc L. Lame teaches at Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 1992, Masters in Entomology in 1981 from Auburn University and B.S. in Agriculture in 1975 from the Ohio State University.

He began his career as an entomologist with the University of Arizona, Cooperative Extension where he was responsible for the implementation of pest management programs (Integrated Pest Management) for commercial agriculture. He currently assists the USEPA with the national coordination of IPM programs in schools as a long time cooperator with their Office of Pesticide Programs, Pesticides in Schools Workgroup. He has assisted with the initiation of school IPM programs in Arizona, Alabama, California, Indiana, Nevada and on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

Marc served as the Ombudsman for the Arizona Department of Environment Quality (ADEQ) acting as liaison to both the regulated public (industry, municipalities, and state and federal agencies) and environmental groups concerning their working relationships with ADEQ. Through this experience he developed research interests in human communication as it relates to management. Consequently, the concept of strategic communication planning is incorporated into all programs (university teaching, or advisory boards on the local, state or national level) in which Dr. Lame is involved.

Dr. Lame currently serves on:
