 John
Carter, Director of Planning, is a native of Bloomington, Indiana. He
graduated from Indiana University in 1978 with a degree in Telecommunications.
He has worked for the Monroe County Community School Corporation since
April of 1985. His work as Assistant Director of Extended Services entailed
managing a custodial staff of over 100 persons. He had responsibility
for the Transportation Department for a few years in the late 80’s and
early 90’s. Currently the position of Director of Planning involves personnel
issues with custodial staff, some maintenance, redistricting, future school
sites, safe schools, employee safety and of course some IPM. He serves
as liaison between the School Corporation and many city and county agencies.
He serves as vice-president on the Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners.
