Sigrid was born 23 Oct 1863 in Filborna, Sweden to Anders Mollergren and Maria Eliasdotter. She was the seventh of nine children.  Her birth recorded in Helsingborg:

Sigrid lived in her father’s household up until she came to the United States. Church record furnished from Helsingborgs Maria Parish indicates Sigrid M”llergren received church certificate (flyttningsbetyg) to travel to America on August 3, 1885. She arrived in New York on August 22, 1885 on the German steamship line S.S. Martha from Stettin: Capt. Alexander Torp in charge. Her age is given as 21 years and her birthplace as Sweden, destination Chicago and she indicated she was to be a permanent settler in the U. S. This information appears in Microcopy No. 237, passenger lists of vessels arriving at New York 1820-1897, roll No. 489 for the period of August 8, 1885 to September 17, 1885 and List no. 989-1157. Her name is in Roll No. 489 is included in List No. 1045 and as item No. 205. National Archives and Record Service, General Services  Administration, Washington, D.C. 1958.

Sigrid settled in Chicago.  She had her daughter in 1893. The father was reportedly her boss.  She later married the widower John Larson.



Death notice in the Chicago Tribune Tuesday July 10, 1945:
Sigrid Larson- July 9, 1945, wife of the late John, dear mother of Belle Jackson, and Hugo, sister of Johanna Bonde, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday, July 11, 1945 1:00pm at Chapel 3175 North Clark Street, Interment Graceland.

Sara Drennan relates that Sigrid observed that children were either into everything and should be left alone to explore or were 'fools'.
