"The Fires of Heaven" is an exceptional book written by Robert 
Jordan.  Through this book you will be taken to another world in which 
magic exists and where good battles evil.  There are seven books in 
this series so far and there may be more.  So, if you find you like 
these books then you will have plenty to read. 

    In this book Rand Al Thor(The dragon reborn) gathers an army to 
root out the forsaken(the dark ones minions) and to free the land from 
their evil plots, but first he must deal with the rebels who want to 
kill him, and the Aes Sedai(a group of magic wielders) who want to use 
him.  At the same time Rand is doing this his friends Egwene, Nynaeve, 
and Elayne are trying to find, and destroy, a magical item that can 
trap and control him.  

    If you like fantasy books about magic and the conflict between 
light and dark, then, I strongly suggest that you read this book.
