Interdisciplinary Unit Updates
All Jaguar Team seventh graders participated in an interdisciplinary activity that focused on measurement, journal writing, and early civilization during the "Hunting and Gathering" simulation in October.
Eighth Grade Jags participated in an interdisciplinary activity that combined letter writing skills with early American history as they petitioned King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella (who always seem to look amazingly like Mr. Inman and Ms. Zock) for funds to sail to the New World.
Check back soon for more details about our upcoming interdisciplinary units
General News
Jag Days 2004 - 2005
Jag Days are community building, team-oriented celebrations offered at the end of each six weeks to Jaguar Team members who have successfully fulfilled their student obligations during that time. To participate in Jag Day festivities, a student must:
Arrive on time to team classes everyday. "On time" means that a student is in his/her seat, ready to learn, when the bell rings. Each student will be afforded one tardy per team class every six weeks.
Abide by the rules of Jackson Creek and the Jaguar Team. A student who wishes to participate in Jag Day activities should not receive any discipline referrals over the course of a six week grading period.
Complete all assignments in every class. Before a student may participate in Jag Day activities, he/she must first fulfill all academic expectations as outlined by Mr. Binford, Mrs. Knox, Mrs. Snow, or Ms. Zock.
Simply, we ask that every student do his or her personal best everyday. Your occupation as a student is the most important job you currently have!
Attention Parents!
We, the faculty of JCMS, are continuing an initiative that focuses on problem solving skills across the curriculum. This is a skill often highlighted in math classes, but it is vital in all disciplines as well as the "real world". Please help us in making students aware of the importance of this skill. When you notice your student using problem solving skills at home, point it out to him/her. Let's help students achieve excellence through encouragement both at home and at school!
