Students quickly realized that a microwave will most likely run out of useful life in 5-10 years, however the home buyer will still make interest payments on that oven for 30 years.

Additional time was spent analyzing financial statements of businesses and determining their profitablity. Students learned about profit margins and operating margins. Student now have an understanding how much of every dollar is realized as actual profit and or loss.
