page. This page is designed to pass along information to
prospective players and parents for the upcoming 2007 season.
Guidelines: Jackson Creek football players must follow the athletic guidelines set forth in the JCMS handbook in compliance with MCCSC policies. JCMS student-athletes are held to high standards and failure to comply with these guidelines can result in dismissal from the squad and school disciplinary procedures. Questions about these policies should be directed towards the Jackson Creek athletic director, Tim Hudson.
Coaches: 8th grade coach: Isaac Washington; 7th grade coach: James Duvall.
Forms: To be eligible, a player must have a current athletic physical on-file at Jackson Creek or bring one with them at registration. Physicals from the 2006-07 school year are not valid for the 2007-08 athletic seasons. Important Dates: The registration date for JCMS football is August 3, 2007, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Jackson Creek atrium. Pre-season sessions for incoming 7th graders will be held July 30- August 2 from 5:00-6:15 p.m. at Bryan Park's Henderson Street field. The first official 7th grade practice will be held on August 6, 2007, from 3:00-5:00 at Olcott Park field. 8th Grade practice dates will be announced at registration. Equipment handout will be following practice on August 8th. There will be a parents meeting after practice on August 23rd. The first JCMS football games are Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at Bloomington High School North and Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Columbus North High School. The Tuesday game is a "B" game for the 7th grade team and the Wednesday games are "A" games for both the 7th and 8th grade teams. The list of game dates is available on the JCMS athletics web page.

Football Camps: Jackson Creek does not require players to attend summer football camps, but any type of football activity that a player can participate in will help him for the upcoming season. A local camp to consider is at Bloomington High School South.

Equipment Needed: JCMS provides players with helmets, shoulder pads, knee, thigh, and hip pads, plus all game equipment. Players also receive their first mouthpiece for free. Players are responsible for their own practice pants and jersey. Cleats are also recommended to have. Any additional pads or protective gear will need to be provided by the players. Once the school year begins the players will store their football gear in the JCMS locker room.
