JCMS PTO Membership

Membership in the Jackson Creek Middle School PTO is a simple, yet, tangible way to show support for your child’s middle school. If you have not already joined the PTO, it’s not too late!

The PTO is an organization of parents, teachers and staff who care to ensure that Jackson Creek Middle School provides the highest level of quality educational programming possible. Our activities are designed to enhance and support the mission of the school and to assist the efforts of the teachers and staff.

The PTO is a vibrant and energetic group of parents and teachers who donate their time, talents and/or resources to make JCMS the truly special school that it is. Please join the PTO and make a difference.

JACKSON CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL PTO

COMMITTEE LIST

Membership/Directory Coordinator – Conducts the annual PTO membership drive in the fall and maintains accurate records of members. Facilitates membership information and dues and reports to the PTO President and Treasurer. Coordinates and publishes the annual Membership Directory with the assistance of other Volunteers. (August – September)

Volunteer Committee: Assists in data input, maintenance, list serve updates and mail duties as the need arises. Includes website updates, newsletter, and list serve. (All year long)

School Dance Committee: Organizes and orchestrates activities associated with the school dance(s) including calendar date(s) confirmation, chaperone selection, decorations, ticket disbursements, signs, banners, and other related functions as necessary. (August to October)

Student Talent Show: Coordinates functions associated with the talent show activities; includes organizing meeting(s) with students, screening talent proposals, coordinating pizza for rehearsal night, attending rehearsal night, selecting stage crew, and development and dissemination of show’s printed program. (February to April)

Staff Appreciation/ Hospitality Committee: Coordinates an ongoing appreciation program to acknowledge the staff at JCMS. The showcase event occurs during Teacher Appreciate Week in the spring with a staff appreciate luncheon involving tremendous volunteer support (All year long).

8th Grade Recognition Committee: Work with several committees to organize this spring event. Typically, this is ran by 7th grade parents and involves decorating for the event, organizing 8th grade students for program, and procuring and serving cookies and drinks for this event (April-May).

Mixed Nuts Committee: Assortment of any other events, activites, celebrations, etc., that arise throughout the school year and would need volunteers to help coordinate and facilitate as needed.
