Childhood- grew up with three younger brothers, lived in Georgia, spent many summers at her grandmother's house in Vermillion, South Dakota

Education - graduated from Radcliffe College, majored in English, went a year at Harvard, special student in Greek and Latin, almost went to graduate school in classics

Family - does not mention husband, three children- Anna, Emily (both in college), and Amanda( still at home), lives in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, a neighborhood of Boston

Critical comments - I have not read any books by her yet, but maybe I will. From what I hear she's a really good writer. I'd recommend checking out one of her books.
