The Shakespeare Stealer

By: Gary Blackwood

They say: '' Widge is forced to travel to London where his corrupt master expects him to copy down all the words of a new Shakespeare play so his company of players can steal the play. However, Widge discovers at the Globe theatre is the first ''family'' he has ever known. He has to decide whether to do as his master wants or risk his life and stay at the Globe.

I say: This book takes place in Shakespeare's time and is about a boy named Widge. Actually, Widge isn't his real name, but no one knows what it is, so everyone just calls him Widge.Widge gets a master one day. His master teaches him a way to write words without writing them out. Like say he wanted to say, ''the sky is blue,'' he could only have to write out -`(~ or something like that. Anyway... some other guy finds out about his method of writing and gets Widge. He sends Widge to a Shakespeare play. Widge starts writing it down, but gets lost in the play. He tells his master so his master sends him back. Widge is caught, and he tells the actors that all he wants to do is act. That's where the story starts. Widge is forced to choose between something he loves(acting) or his master.
