Painted Terrapin
Why The Painted Terrapin Should be saved...
by Amanda P.
There are only a few large groups of painted terrapins that remain. The females may reach 50 cm wide.
The males can reach to 40 cm. They have webbed feet and five claws on each foot. They only nest from June to August on the east coast and from October to January on the west coast. They only have 12 eggs per nest and less than 50 eggs.
Females are nesting on a few rivers. Their eggs are being eaten and their nesting grounds are being destroyed for development.
The painted terrapin should be saved because they are animals and animals are specical creatures. If you don't want our ecosystem to wreaked, we must save this specical species.
