The scientific name is Aliuropoda melanoleura.
The Giant Panda eats mainly bamboo but it is difficult to digest so it can eat for 10 to 12 hours a day.
It's natural habitat is western China.
They can only give birth to one or to yung at a time.
The average Giant Panda's body length is about six feet.
A big threat is paching but there are laws against it.
The Giant Panda and the Red Panda are alot alike but the Giant Panda has working thumbs.
It reproduces between Janurary and Feburary,there are laws protecting it during its breeding time.
There are only 100 Giant panda's left in china!

The giant panda isn't just your ordinary ol' panda were talking the Ginat Panda,it representswestern china.It is part of the animal kingdom,and no part of this chain should be messed with.They are simple delicate creatures and do no harm to anyone.They only can have one or two babies at a time so repopulating would be very difficult.So please save the giant panda before its to late.
