Jackie Robinson
Many African Americans struggled throughout their lives with racial discrimination and prejudices. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jackie Robinson were just two individuals whose lives were filled with hardships and pain in fighting against these injustices. These men fought for what they believed to be right and for that and other reasons, they are American heroes.
Jackie Robinson is a great example of an American hero. He is a great person for children to admire. When Jackie was a little boy, he was always getting picked on. Some boys were making fun of him, and they hit him with rocks and put gum in his hair. When he got to major league baseball, his team would call him names just like the kids did when Jackie was young.
