February 11, 1847~Thomas Alva Edison was born.

1857~ Thomas has already read History of England, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, History of the World, and The Age of Reason.

1858~ Thomas made a model telegraph set just by looking at a picture in a book.

1859~ He started to sell candy on trains, to make extra money.

1860~ He starts to become deaf.

1862~ He saves a young boy's life on a train track, and learns telegraphy in reward.

1868~ He was fired from his job because he played jokes on his boss.

May 1, 1869~ Thomas received a patent for a vote recording machine.

1877~ Thomas invents the light bulb

August 9, 1884~ Thomas's wife, Mary dies from Typhoid fever.

1885~ He marries again to a young woman named Mina. When he was 38, she was 22.

1886~ Mina has a baby boy-Charles.

1887~ Mina has another baby boy- Theodore.

1888~ Thomas Alva Edison invents the very first motion picture.

October 21, 1931~ He dies at age 84.

October 22, 1931~ The United States pays a tribute to him by shutting off the power and praying for one minute.
