• December 7, 1941 Melba Pattillo Beals born.

• 1954- Supreme Court rules in Brown vs. Board of Education case.

• 1955- On December First In Montgomery, Alabama a woman named Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat ont he bus for a white man.

• 1955- Melba volunteers to go to Central High School, an all white school.

• 1957- The Little Rock nine face the segrogistionists and enter Central High School for the very first time.

• September 11, 1957- Court summons served on governor Faubus

• December 3, 1957- 12th week at Central for the nine students

• Wednesday, December 18- Minijean suspended from Central High

• February 18, 1958- MinniJean Brown expelled, and three other students suspended
