What is the American Spirit?
There are many people that have made an impact on our lives. It may be your parents, grandparents, or others. It may be a national figure like Martin Luther King, Jr. or Susan B. Anthony. For me, Susan B. Anthony impacts every woman's life.
Like Martin Luther King, Jr., Susan B. Anthony is someone that represents an American Hero because she risked her own freedom for the freedom of others. Instead of sitting around and doing nothing, she put actions into what she belived in and for that she got arrested. Susan wanted women to have equal rights as men. When she was about 20 years old on September 5, she casted her first ballot.
Before Susan died she made a quote," I am here for a little time only and then my place will be filled....The fight must not cease; you must see that it does not stop." Shortly after that Susan was stricken with pneumonia; on March 13, 1906, Susan died.
