Animals of Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has many different species and types of animals and wildlife. Zimbabwe has an assortment of different snakes. One of the main snakes is rattlesnakes. The people of Zimbabwe don't like the rattlesnakes though because their families get bitten and their pets get hurt by the rattlers.

Another very common and more popular animal is the African elephant. The African elephant is one of the largest animals of Zimbabwe, it can weigh over 4000 pounds!

The leopard is one of the most beautiful animals in Zimbabwe. It lives in the lower part of Africa and lurks around searching for pray. The leopard has very good camoflauge and can hide in the tallest trees and never be seen. This can cause great danger for the kids of Zimbabwe, but the leopard pretty much minds its own business.

Both sexes of giraffe have horns. The giraffe has a very long neck that allows them to reach to the top of the highest trees. In order to get a drink the giraffe has to spread its legs apart to get its neck all the way down to the ground. When a baby giraffe is born, it has to drop 12 feet or more to get to the ground.
