  Dark and Light

by Hannah H.

There are two kinds of me,
One dark kind which no other but me can see.

I'm not a human being;
this dark kind of me is viciously mean.

I'm pushy, dumb, and hateful,
But worst of all I'm very ungrateful.

When this kind of me is to start,
It's hard to stop because I pull things apart.

I'm as mean as a bull,
And my heart is as black as coal.

the light kind of me,
Mostly defeats the dark and ugly.

The light kind of me,
Is very brave and lovely.

My light kind is as radiant as the sun,
Tha's why when it's on I have so much more fun.

The light kind of me doesn't like not being free in my mind.
That's why there is a very rare dark kind.

Dark/ Light Side

by Quincy H.

I go see a movie, this makes me happy,
But the movie is horrible, this makes me sad.
So I decide to get popcorn, and eating makes me happy,
But the popcorn tastes like paper, and this makes me sad.

So I begin the cycle, from happy to sad,
I go from active and comical to quiet and mad.

I see an Afro, and this makes me happy,
Then I realize I'm at school, and this makes me sad.
After school, it is the weekend, and this makes me happy,
But come Sunday I have homework, and this makes me sad.

So the cycle continues, my attitudes are changing,
I go from quiet and mad to evil and raging,

I attempt to end my madness by sitting down and eating,
When I get a call about a gathering, a meeting.

"Showplace 12, 8 o'clock," the telephone tells me,
So I say, "OK," get in the car and let the cycle free.
