SITE SUPERVISOR EVALUATIONS OF VOLUNTEERS


Q: What changes if any, have you noticed in your student’s progress, self-esteem, behavior, etc. (positive or negative) that might be attributed to the volunteer’s work with her/him?

“The volunteer seemed more confident as her visits progressed.”

Q: What would be your best advice for new mentors?

 

“Focus on a few things which need improvement and build from there.”

“Be prepared to work with very little supervision. I’m teaching while volunteers are here, so I can’t stop to give many directions.”

“I like to talk to each volunteer individually. So I don’t have any general suggestions.”

“Please make sure that volunteers are able to commit at least one day a week regularly and then follow through to make sure that they are coming.”
