The MCCSC International Family Welcome and Orientation is for families from abroad who have come to the United States to work or study, and whose children are enrolled in the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC). During the morning you will receive lots of information that will help you make the transition.

  • Who can attend?

International families who are newly enrolled in grades K-12 for the 2010-11 school year and those who arrived partway through the last school year are invited. Registration is required to attend the event.

  • Helpful Information for Parents

Useful information about English language learning and other important aspects of school life will be presented. Parents will go to separate rooms - or "breakout sessions" - to attend presentations in English, Korean, or Spanish.

  • Activities for teens (ages 12-18)

Middle school and high school students, both new and returning can all meet at "Teen Talk" to listen to music, find buddies, and share school experiences.

  • Fun for elementary school students (ages 5-11)

Elementary school children will have fun with crafts and other play activities under creative adult supervision.

  • Child care for toddlers (ages 2-4)

Your young children will have plenty of fun and good care while parents attend the program.

  • Information Booths

Various community organizations will have tables or booths at the school to provide information and answer questions about their various services.

  • Interpreters

Interpreters will be ready to help in Korean, Spanish, Chinese, and some other languages.

  • Transportation
