WHAT IS CPR? Community Partners in Reading, is a program of the Monroe County Community School Corporation's Literacy Services that helps struggling 2nd-graders in learning to read. Research says that children who cannot read at grade level by the 3rd grde continue to fall behind and never reach their academic potential. CPR is designed to aid such students, who benefit from the extra instruction and personal attention. |
|
WHO HELPS THESE KIDS WITH THEIR LEARNING? YOU DO! CPR pairs two students with one community partner from a local business or organization. The partner then spends 30 minutes a week with each student reading and working on vocabulary and comprehension. As students become successful readers, they graduate from CPR and continue on the path of academic success. |
