SEVENTH GRADE

 

regional study of Asia, Africa, and Oceania, with a review of geographic skills and concepts,

and an overview of various social sciences.

 


 

The seventh grade curriculum includes a review of geography skills and concepts, a general introduction to the history of the Eastern Hemisphere, various types of government, economy, and culture, and a detailed study of Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

The text is Our World Today.   Your child should have his/her own copy at home in book, CD rom, or on-line form to use at all times without bringing it back and forth to school every day.

HOMEWORK: (I will update this as often as possible, but there may be assignments given in class which won't appear here right away.)

Assignments/Topics for the week of:

October 16th –  

We are finishing Chapter 1, which we skipped over earlier.    There will be a TEST over the chapter on Thursday October, 19th which is also midterm.   The midterm will only have 5 or 6 grades and will not count the major test that day.    Look for an update of your child’s grade next week on the Assignment and Grade Sheet for my class.

The TEST will cover the pages in Chapter 1 as well as several handouts from sources outside of the textbook.    These should be organized in your child’s folder.    There is a lot of vocabulary in this unit which can be found on the various sheets.
