Educational Opportunity Grants (EOG)

The most significant means of impacting student learning is to fund grants for the unmet and unfunded needs of students and teachers at Rogers-Binford.  Each school year (in October and February), the PTO will award grants to worthy projects that significantly impact student learning.  Requests come directly from Rogers and Binford teachers and go directly to our students.

A committee comprised of the Rogers-Binford principals, PTO presidents and vice presidents, PTO Teacher Representatives and volunteer members of the PTO will review grant applications and make recommendations to the general PTO assembly for funding.  Award money is generated from the proceeds of our Sally Foster fundraising program.

Rogers-Binford is now enrolled in the Kroger Cares program.  You can help raise money for our school by purchasing a $5.00 Kroger Cares card and using it when you purchase groceries, fill a prescription or buy gas.  Your Kroger cares card will initially be loaded with a balance of $5.00 (your purchase price!).  You add money to the card balance at any time and use it at the check-out line instead of your usual form of payment.  You can use this card in addition to your Kroger Plus card.

Here’s how it works:

1.      Purchase your Kroger Cares card at the PTO table set-up at Roger’s & Binford’s front hallways on Oct 1 & 2 and Oct 8 & 9 from 8:30-9:15.  (The serial numbers on these cards are linked to our school.)  Cards may also be purchased at monthly PTO meetings.  Cards will not be available at the school offices.

2.      You can “reload” your Kroger Care card at the Kroger Customer Service counter with any amount after you purchase it from the PTO.  Start using the card every time you purchase groceries, fill a prescription, or buy gas at Kroger and earn the school money.  It’s that easy!

Helpful tip…stop by the Kroger Customer Service counter before you begin      shopping as it does take a few minutes for the information to load.  By the time you    are finished shopping, you’re card will be “reloaded” and ready to use without delay!

3.      When our school’s initial card purchases and “reloads” to our account reach $5,000 or more, Rogers-Binford will receive a 5% credit on our account balance and a check will be issued.

Many thanks to all that generously supported the 2008 Sally Foster fundraiser.  Our school earned over $11,000 from a combination of sale profits and personal donations! Our school keeps 50% of every item sold.  This money is used to help support vital programs that benefit our tremendous students and staff!

Anyone wishing to make additional orders can do so online by going to Sallyfoster.com and using our school’s account number 241194.  These sales can continue throughout the year and as always, 50% of each sale goes to our school.
