Teachers' and Counselors' Grant Application

Cougars for Better Education (C4BE) is a group of dedicated parents who want to help you make BHSN the best school for our students. C4BE supports academic, artistic, civic and athletic endeavors at BHSN. Projects supported by C4BE are those that will provide significant improvements to BHSN.

This is an opportunity for you to supplement your teaching materials, to improve your classroom, to help your students, or to advance your students' learning experiences in whatever way you think is best. To see some of the previously funded projects and materials, look at our expenditures from previous years.

Please complete the following form outlining your grant request in detail. Some important guidelines:

  • If you are asking to purchase items, please include specific information regarding prices including shipping (additional funds for shipping, etc. cannot be added later).
  • Please make an estimate as to the number of students that will benefit per unit of time (such as 48 students in 2 classes per semester, over an estimated 5-year life-span; or, 10 students to attend a one-time trip to art museum in Chicago; or, 25 students in each of 3 classes per semester, these tools should last many years).
  • Please indicate if the item is needed immediately or would be appreciated at any time.

If you prefer to submit a written application, leave the completed form in the Cougars for Better Education school mailbox (please keep a copy for your records). It must be received by the end of the day October 31st (or the first business day thereafter). If you have questions, please contact the current treasurer.

The Treasurer will email you a confirmation for ALL grant requests (online or written). If you have not heard from the Treasurer by early November, please contact us and be sure that we have received your application! Funding decisions are made when the C4BE Board meets in November.
