Cougars for Better
Education
Cougars for Better Education, Inc.
(C4BE) is a non-profit organization, formed in the Fall of 1995, which
raises and disburses funds to support Bloomington High School North. C4BE
supports academic, artistic, civic, and athletic endeavors at BHSN through
teacher grants as well as through other programs of direct benefit to
students. Projects supported by C4BE are those that will provide
significant improvements to BHSN and are not funded by the Monroe County
Community School Corporation or any other sources. C4BE relies on volunteer
efforts to direct and staff our activities, so virtually all funds raised
are expended for educational projects at North. Some of our recent awards
are listed below.
There are several ways that you can help C4BE in supporting
Bloomington North. All contributions are tax deductible. For details about
the various programs of giving, please click on the following links.
Fall Fundraising Campaign
Donate Now!
Each Fall, C4BE launches a major campaign to raise the funds
needed to support BHSN teachers by awarding grants for specific requests
they have each year. Our 2011-12 goal, as it is every year, is to raise $10
in honor of each and every student at BHSN.
Each year thousands of dollars are donated directly to C4BE by
individuals, including parents, teachers and alumni. Money
donated is used primarily to fund grants to teachers in any number of
departments at BHSN. Additional expenditures are made for Teacher/ Staff
Appreciation and Faculty Professional Development. For a list of the funded
grants please click on the following links:
Please note that C4BE funds athletic equipment and athletic
team related grant requests ONLY with donations specifically designated for
that purpose, not with any other donations. C4BE also does not generally
fund field trip grant requests except with donations designated for a
particular field trip. C4BE does, however, maintain a Student Assistance
Fund which can be used for field trip expenses by any North student in
need.
Volunteer Opportunity
Cougars for Better Education encourages you to become involved
as a fellow advocate for educational excellence at BHSN. C4BE will meet in
the school’s Library/Media Center. Meetings for the 2011-12 school year
will be held at 7:00 pm on the Wednesdays listed below. In addition to
discussion on C4BE business, each meeting is attended by a teacher
representative and a member of the BHSN administration who provide school
updates and answer questions. All BHSN parents are welcome to attend any
meeting.
