BLOOMINGTN HIGH SCHOOL NORTH ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB
The mission of the North Athletic Booster Club is to promote the spirit of competition through volunteer and monetary means.
Minutes May 5, 2008
Board members present: M'Lissa Baye, Nancy Boatner, Lori Cash, Ralph Dunbar, Elaine Gaul, Ruth Hanna, Cindy Jackson, Scott Joraanstad, Karen Serfling, Kris Stratten.
Others present: Dave Withered, Theresa Arthur, Stew Cutshall, Athletic Director Scott Bless, Kathy Thompson
The meeting was called to order at 5:36 p.m. by Pres. Ruth Hanna.
The minutes from the June meeting were approved on a motion made by R. Dunbar and 2nd by S. Joraanstad.
Kris reported that our total assets are: $25,700 and the total in Team Accounts is $5,500. We have given a total of $43,343 towards various athletic team/department needs this year.
The treasurer’s report was approved on a motion made by C. Jackson and seconded by M. Baye.
Coach Bless reported that the athletic department received a bill for basketball security for $2,520 (boy's basketball) and $1,102 (girl's basketball). R. Dunbar made a motion that the athletic booseter club pay this expense. Motion seconded by E. Gaul. Motion passed. Coach Bless also reported on some improvements that the athletic department would like to make to the gymnasium. The improvements would include refinishing the gym floor, painting hte gym a lighter color, getting new doors (so they all match) and wall mats, redoing and updating the BHSN athletic history items-this would include moving some items to a more visible location. Some suggestions were made to Coach Bless about possible contacts that could help with these improvements. Coach Bless also mentioned the idea of activity buses. This tpic was discussed at length. Coach Bless will pursue this idea.
OLD BUSINESS
SPORTS PROGRAMS
Cindy reported that the spring program is out. Thank you to Cindy for her hard work on the programs!
APPAREL
Denise is planning to come ot hte track meet to sell apparel.
CONCESSIONS
Ruth reported that concessions are getting ready for the softball sectional, the North/South track meet, and the track sectional and regional. She and Coach Bless also discussed the plan to cookout at the softball sectional games.

The group said a BIG "THANK YOU!" to President Ruth Hanna for her MANY hours of service to BHSN Athletic Booster Club and the athletes of BHSN!!
C. Jackson made a motion to adjourn. K. Serfling seconded the motion. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
