Snack

Your child is adjusting to staying at school for the whole day! We will have a snack in the afternoon to hold them over until after school. I will take donations of healthy snacks (crackers, fruit snacks, and other non-perishables.) We will not have a drink (this will take too much time). We will get water from the fountain if needed.  I will send home a list of snacks in the event we have allergies in our classroom.

Lunch & Outdoor Recess

Lunch costs $1.85/day; milk only is $.35/day; and breakfast is $1.10/day. The cafeteria would like either weekly payments or monthly. Please make checks payable to MCCSC or Rogers School. Please put checks or cash in an envelope with your child's name marked on the outside. Your check will be sent down to the office that day.

As noted in the Rogers Handbook, all children are expected to participate in outdoor recess. Fresh air during recess is healthy for children. A note of explanation from your physician is needed to keep a child in during recess. Weather will be changing soon. Prepare for cooler temperatures by sending a coat, sweater, hat, and gloves if needed.

Read Aloud and Wrap Up Time

Read Aloud at Wrap Up time will eventually be a time for students to sign up to read aloud to their classmates. Students may bring in a book from home or from their Book Buddy. Dismissal time is at 3:10. You are NOT permitted to pick up your child in the classroom without signing them out in the office. Please make sure I am aware you took your child. I will walk car riders and walkers around to the front hallway of the school. A teacher will supervise them while they wait. I will then walk bus riders to their bus lines and Extended Day students to their room.

End of the Day Routine

It is extremely important that I know where your child is going at the end of the day. If plans change during the day, DO NOT LEAVE ME A VOICEMAIL!! If your child is going home with someone else, I MUST HAVE A WRITTEN NOTE!
