FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I get to ATS? ATS is located at Broadview Learning Center, the site
of the old Broadview Elementary School at 705 West Coolidge Drive
in Bloomington. See maps for directions to the school.
How do I contact ATS? You may contact ATS via phone at 330-7731, then press
3 at the first prompt and 3 at the second prompt. Or fax us at 330-2433,

What are the school hours? School begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. What happens if my child is absent? Student absences will be reported to the student’s school. The school administrator will decide if the missed day(s) need to be made up. Unexcused student absences will be reported as truancies to the student’s school. What happens if my child is late? Students who arrive late will not be allowed to attend ATS. Exceptions will be made if sufficient reason is provided verbally or in writing by a parent
What do I do if my student needs to be picked up early? Please notify the ATS staff in writing of the reason for the early release and the time the student will be picked up. What grade levels attend ATS? Grades 7-12 are eligible to attend ATS (grade 6 from Richland Bean Blossom School Corporation is also eligible.) Which schools send students to ATS? Bloomington High School North Bloomington High School South Edgewood High School Jackson Creek Middle School Batchelor Middle School Tri North Middle School Edgewood Junior High School How many students attend ATS? Attendance at ATS varies daily. The average number of students in attendance is in the range of 8-11. The preferred number of students is 15, but attendance has reached 30 during special instances.
Does the school provide lunch? The school does provide lunch.
What can my student bring for lunch? Any food that would normally be brought to school or served by the school, within the following restrictions: They may not have food delivered from restaurants (ie. Pizza); They may not bring food that needs to be prepared, except for items that can be microwaved. How will my child receive homework while at ATS? Students should bring all assignments with them to ATS. Schools will send assignments to students attending ATS. Students are responsible for bringing all books and materials in order to complete assignments. Bloomington High School North Students are expected to meet with each of their teachers prior to attending ATS, to receive assignments. Will my child receive credit for homework while at ATS? Yes, a student will receive credit for assignments completed while at ATS. A student will NOT receive credit for assignments for any of these reasons: refusal to work on assignments, absence from ATS on a day when an assignment is due. All completed assignments will be returned to school by the ATS staff. Will my child receive instruction in their subjects while at ATS? Yes. The ATS staff are licensed teachers. They will instruct students in any subject area, to the best of their abilities. Can my child take tests and final exams while at ATS? Yes. A student who receives tests or exams while at ATS will be given a reasonable amount of time to study before taking the test or exam. Tests and Exams will be sent back to the school by the ATS staff. Is the Internet available to students at ATS? Yes, the Internet will be made available to a students, if there is clear evidence that the student has an assignment requiring its use. The Internet use policies of students’ schools will apply to the students while they are at ATS.
What if my child requires medicine while at ATS? Prescription medicines must be brought to school in their original prescription containers. The ATS has the right to verify the prescription with the student’s school. ATS staff are not certified medical personnel, and are not able to dispense any medications (prescription or over-the- counter) to any student.
What if the schools are closed? If the MCCSC schools are closed, ATS will be closed to all students, including RBBSC students. If RBBSC school are closed, RBBSC students are not required to attend ATS. MCCSC students will still be required to attend. If RBBSC schools have a scheduled half day, students are still required to spend the full day at ATS. What if the schools are delayed? If the MCCSC schools have a delayed start, then ATS will open at 10:00AM. If RBBSC schools have a delayed start, those students should report to ATS by 10:00AM. |
